Those who survive the harsh conditions of the wilderness have little time for small-talk, and so prefer to introduce themselves in simple ways: for example, displaying a trophy they took from a savage beast that made the mistake of crossing their path.
That being said, it’s not usually a good idea to question whether or not the person wearing the trophy is the one who necessarily *earned* it, so they can also be a fashion statement.
Even a hundred generations after their defeat, the Oni Warlords remain among of the most feared Yōkai in history. Their fangs and claws, turned to stone upon their death, still glow with the infernal ichor that once coursed through their veins, and the skulls carved from their bone in their own likeness set between them glows too.
The words of protection written long ago by the last Warrior Priests still remain, preventing the Warlords’ spiritual essence from finding a new host… but how much longer can they last?
