Intellectual Property Policy

Last updated on February 21, 2026

Crafters Market is a marketplace for designers, makers and independent businesses. We take intellectual property rights seriously and comply with applicable UK intellectual property laws and recognised industry standards.

This Intellectual Property Policy explains:

  • The role of Crafters Market
  • How rights owners can report alleged infringement
  • How sellers can respond to reports
  • How repeat infringement is handled
  • How reports can be withdrawn

This policy forms part of our Terms of Use.

1. Our Role

Crafters Market is an online marketplace that enables independent sellers to list and sell their products. Sellers operate their own shops, create their own policies, and are solely responsible for their listings, products, fulfilment and compliance with the law.

Crafters Market:

  • Does not manufacture goods
  • Does not hold inventory
  • Does not take ownership of items listed
  • Does not act as an agent for sellers

All content uploaded to the platform, including product listings, images, videos, shop names and descriptions, is created and controlled by independent sellers. Sellers are responsible for ensuring that they have the necessary rights to use any content they upload and that their listings do not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.

Crafters Market reserves the right to remove or disable access to any listing, shop or account that we believe may breach our Terms of Use, this Intellectual Property Policy, or any applicable law. We also reserve the right to take action against users who misuse this policy.

Crafters Market cannot provide legal advice, make legal determinations regarding ownership of intellectual property, or act on behalf of rights holders.

2. Reporting Intellectual Property Infringement

We aim to respond promptly to valid and complete reports of alleged intellectual property infringement.

If you are a rights holder, or authorised to act on behalf of one, and believe that content on Crafters Market infringes your copyright, trade mark, design rights or other intellectual property rights, you may submit a formal report through our designated reporting process at [email protected]

Information required in a report

Your report must include:

  1. Your full name and contact details
  2. A description of the intellectual property right being infringed
  3. Evidence that you are the rights holder or authorised to act on their behalf
  4. Clear identification of the allegedly infringing material, including URLs
  5. A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorised
  6. A statement that the information in your report is accurate

We may request further information, including proof of identity or proof of ownership, before taking action.

If we receive a report that complies with our requirements, we may remove or disable access to the material identified. We will make reasonable efforts to notify the affected seller and provide details of the report. This may include sharing the name and contact details of the reporting party.

We may refuse to process reports that are incomplete, misleading, abusive, or submitted in bad faith. We reserve the right to take action against parties who misuse this reporting process.

3. Responding to a Report

If your listing or shop has been affected by an intellectual property complaint, you will be notified.

If you believe the material was removed in error, or that you have the legal right to use the content in question, you may submit a formal response. Your response should include:

  • Your full name and contact details
  • Identification of the removed material
  • An explanation of why you believe the removal was incorrect
  • Any supporting evidence

Crafters Market will review the information provided but does not adjudicate disputes. If both parties maintain their positions, the matter may need to be resolved directly between the parties or through the courts.

We reserve the right to maintain removal of content while a dispute remains unresolved.

4. Repeat Infringement

Crafters Market may suspend or permanently terminate accounts that are subject to repeated or multiple intellectual property complaints in appropriate circumstances.

If we reasonably believe that a user has attempted to open a new account following suspension or termination, we reserve the right to refuse service and close associated accounts.

In accordance with our Terms of Use, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts at our discretion where there is risk to the platform, other users or rights holders.

5. Withdrawal of a Report

We only accept withdrawals of infringement reports directly from the original rights holder or their authorised representative.

A withdrawal must:

  • Clearly state that it is a formal withdrawal
  • Identify the original complaint
  • Identify the affected listing or shop

Once received, we will confirm receipt with the withdrawing party and notify the affected seller. However, withdrawal of a complaint does not automatically reinstate content or restore account privileges. Each case is assessed individually.

6. Further Information

If your content has been removed due to a report of infringement, or if you would like to learn more about intellectual property protection, we recommend seeking independent legal advice.
