Square round turned wooden bowl

Fitting a square into round, this was a really interesting piece to make. I had seen similar types of bowls but not quite like this design. As I turned and cut the detail it became clearer as to where I was going. The opposing contours together with both square and circle took both care and time to produce but the end result was very pleasing and sure to create interest. Made out of Canadian maple it has a very warm mellow colour and feel. It is not a large item but something that is bound to create curiosity. It is an ideal item for small trinkets and could serve as a small bowl for nuts or sweets. Finished with Danish oil and wax burnish. Please do not immerse in water but wipe occasionally with a damp cloth and finish with a good quality furniture wax,
