14″ x 12″ Original, Framed portrait of a golden retriever

Hand drawn in pastel pencils, this pet portrait captures an intelligent, trusting nature with the loving playfulness of his breed.

Layers of brown, cream, warm yellow, yellow ochre and even subtle touches of pink colours were built up to create this golden retriever’s silky soft hair, fluffy coat and maine-like ruff. Working darker tones and lighter areas, following the natural direction and contour of the fur to build form, evoking realism and life of his charismatic nature.

This beautiful drawing would make a special gift for any occasion, for someone who loves this breed of dog and would like a piece of art or simply a memorial piece of a lost companion.
