Those who survive the harsh conditions of the wilderness have little time for small-talk, and so prefer to introduce themselves in simple ways: for example, displaying a trophy they took from a savage beast that made the mistake of crossing their path.

That being said, it’s not usually a good idea to question whether or not the person wearing the trophy is the one who necessarily *earned* it, so they can also be a fashion statement.

This was taken from one of the fearsome Harpies, that dwell high in the mountains and hunt with the storm winds. On rare occasion, Harpies can be seen hunting in the lowlands. In such instances it is said that they are compelled by divine forces to seek a particular target. For the most part, they will hunt small game, or steal from travellers. In larger groups, they have been known to besiege entire towns for days on end. They are ferocious and persistent hunters, deadly in groups.

Those who wear trophies of a slain Harpy declare themselves to be resilient in the face of persistent attack, and an enemy of thieves.
