Handmade from carefully selected solid European oak, Doris is much more than a novelty. At 2.2cm thick, she’s a robust, practical wooden chopping board, bread board and serving board, equally at home in the kitchen or outside at a barbecue.
Use her for chopping and preparing food, serving bread and cheese, presenting charcuterie or simply as a wonderfully unusual centrepiece for your kitchen table. The possibilities are varied – although we draw the line at crispy duck pancakes.
Handmade oak chopping board, made in Wales
Every Doris the Duck is handmade in Wales using premium timber, individually selected for its appearance, strength and performance.
We use sustainably sourced European FSC-certified hardwood, and every board is carefully finished and quality checked before it leaves our workshop.
There are no plastics or lacquer coatings. Instead, Doris is treated with pure mineral oil followed by a final coat of citrus oil, bringing out the beautiful natural colour and character of the oak while giving the board a subtle orange scent.
We use a premium, water-safe, food-contact-approved adhesive, making the board suitable for food preparation and serving.

How to care for your oak chopping board
Doris is a natural wooden product, so please treat her kindly.
Wipe clean with a damp cloth only and allow to dry naturally. Do not put the board in a dishwasher or soak it in water.
And please, whatever you do, don’t put any duck in the dishwasher.
