Brace yourself for the inevitable:
“OMG, you’ve got a Capybara chopping board!”
Yes. You do.
And frankly, why wouldn’t you?
Capybaras are the coolest animals on Earth. They’re relaxed, unbothered and seemingly have absolutely no interest in life’s unnecessary drama. We could all learn a thing or two from them.
Meet Cornelius and Cleopatra , our wonderfully chilled Capybara cutting boards, handmade from British-supplied engineered bamboo selected for its strength, durability and beautiful natural appearance.
Choose your Capybara
Cornelius is in his ultimate relaxed zen state, perfectly suited to anyone who believes the kitchen should be a calm place.
Cleopatra , meanwhile, is attentively gazing towards the nearest snack. Because even the most zen Capybara knows that food is important.
You can also add one of our bespoke matching bamboo chopping board stands , designed specifically for your Capybara board. Simply select a stand when ordering.
A chopping board, serving board and seriously good conversation starter
At 2cm thick , this solid bamboo board is designed for everyday use in the kitchen.
Use it as a:
Chopping board for fruit, vegetables and everyday food preparation
Bread board for slicing sourdough, baguettes and other loaves
Serving board for cheese, charcuterie, fruit and nibbles
BBQ serving board for outdoor entertaining
We’ve deliberately left the back of the Capybara relatively flat and blank, giving you a practical cutting surface while the shaped front makes an eye-catching serving board.
Or forget practicality for a moment.
Put grapes on his head.
Arrange cheese on his chilled-out bottom.
Lay beautifully sliced sourdough across his middle.
It’s your Capybara. Do what you like.
Handmade from sustainable FSC-certified bamboo
Each Capybara board is handmade from British-supplied engineered bamboo , chosen for its combination of strength, wear resistance and attractive natural appearance.
We hand-pick our timber for both performance and appearance , and use FSC-certified timber from responsibly managed sources .
There are no plastic coatings or lacquer finishes.
Instead, we use food-contact approved, water-safe adhesive , making the board suitable for food preparation and serving when cared for as recommended.
Natural food-safe finish
Each board receives a carefully applied finish designed to protect the bamboo while enhancing its natural appearance.
It is treated with:
Plant-based worktop oil for deep penetration
Pure food-grade mineral oil
Citrus oil to give the board a rich colour and a subtle, fresh orange scent
The result is a beautifully tactile, natural-looking Capybara that’s made to be enjoyed for years.
How to care for your Capybara chopping board
Please hand wash only.
Simply wipe the board with a damp cloth after use and allow it to dry naturally.
Do not put your Capybara chopping board in the dishwasher.
Apart from anything else, we’re fairly sure an actual Capybara wouldn’t fit in one either.
