Those who survive the harsh conditions of the wilderness have little time for small-talk, and so prefer to introduce themselves in simple ways: for example, displaying a trophy they took from a savage beast that made the mistake of crossing their path.
That being said, it’s not usually a good idea to question whether or not the person wearing the trophy is the one who necessarily *earned* it, so they can also be a fashion statement.

The Vampire is among the most dangerous of the Undead: and few could ever claim to be more dangerous than the so-called King of the Undead, Vlad Țepeș Drăcul, more widely known as Count Dracula.
Slain at the hands of those upon whom he would have feasted, now his horrid fangs – along with those of his three wicked brides and poor tormented Lucy Westenra – hang wrapped in a silvered chain, bound to a crucifix: hanging beside them are phials of his unnatural blood and the ashes that were once his body.
To wear such a trophy would indeed be a proud boast, but take care, hunter: the Vampire is a vengeful creature, and the killing of one of their most notorious kin will seldom go unanswered.
