Handmade wire weave Cats Eye earrings in copper, with Niobium hypoallergenic ear wires. I used 0.7 mm bare copper base wires and did my weaving across them with tiny, 28 gauge copper wire. I used bare wire to mirror the shape of the wire weaving, and also to add two decorative spirals at the top of each earring.
After polishing, I carefully oxidised these earrings to create a beautiful antique finish. This really shows off the intricacy of the wire weaving. I then coated them in Everbrite, which prevents tarnishing and also forms a barrier between the copper and your skin. I then thoroughly polished again and fitted the ear wires.
Earring length (excluding jumpring and bail) is 3 cm (1.25 inches.)
Ear wire length is 2 cm (1.25 inches.)
The bead size is 6mm (approximately 0.25 inches.)
