I designed and handmade these dainty earrings by carefully weaving 0.315 mm diameter, (28 gauge) bare copper wire, over 0.6 mm diameter bare copper wire.

I used some of the 0.6mm wire to create a tight spiral at the top of each earring to add interest and highlights.

After polishing by hand, I oxidised these earrings to add an attractive antique finish, which shows off the meticulous wire weave and contrasts beautifully with the gorgeous mauve colour of the Cats Eye beads.

I then thoroughly hand polished again and applied a liberal coating of Everbrite which will protect the earrings from tarnish.

The ear wires are Niobium, which is a metal with excellent hypoallergenic properties, so is a great solution if you have allergic reactions to other ear wires.
