This multicoloured dragonfly is made from wool, needle felted around thin wire to make the body and head, but the tail is purely needle felted wool. Gossamer fabric wings have been painted with an iridescent nail varnish then attached via felting over them with a copper-accented wool, which has also been used to create eyes, and embroidery thread has been applied to indicate the segmenting, with green wire attaching them to a blue flower which has been made on a loom using acrylic yarn. The plastic bauble measures 9cm.
This dragonfly is almost as delicate as their inspiration and needs to be handled with care (ideally as little as possible).
