I think everyone knows someone who loves hares! They are a much loved stolwort of the British countryside with their long ears, scruffy fur and wide bright eyes.
This piece is cropped closely to focus on those stunning eyes, alert for any danger and all their reflections. I used subtraction methods to create the fur texture (adding in graphite and then removing with different erasers) and finally adding those bold, striking whiskers. The piece was created entirely with just a few graphite pencils.
The artwork has been finished with it’s own bespoke double mount measuring 12 by 12 inches- white with a grey inner to complement the piece using archival mounting methods.
The grey frame is made from paper wrapped MDF and measures 15mm deep and can be wall mounted or placed on a flat surface. It comes with a styrene pane for safe transport. The back of the frame has been sealed with framers tape for protection.
The artwork comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and a care guide.
