We’re Not Just a Facebook Group (Please Read If You’re Joining as a Vendor)

Last updated on March 4, 2026

If you’ve found us through our Facebook group — welcome! We’re so glad you’re here.

But we need to clear something up because it’s causing a lot of confusion:

Crafter’s Market UK is NOT a Facebook selling group.

The Facebook group is just one small part of what we do.

What Crafter’s Market UK Actually Is

Crafter’s Market UK is a dedicated online marketplace website for handmade businesses.

It’s your own:

  • Online shop
  • Product listings
  • Checkout system
  • Order management
  • Professional presence outside of social media

So What Is the Facebook Group For?

Our customer-facing Facebook group is:

  • A community space
  • A visibility tool
  • A way to connect with shoppers
  • A place to share products and engage

We allow non-vendors to post in there too because community growth benefits everyone.

But:

Posting in the Facebook group does not mean you have a store with us.

It does not replace setting up your shop on our website.

It does not create product listings.

It does not give customers a checkout.

It does not give customers a checkout.

Signing Up to the Website Is Step One — Not the Only Step

Another common misunderstanding:

Some vendors create an account on the website and think they’re done.

Creating an account is just registration.

To actually become a selling vendor, you must:

  1. Set up your store profile
  2. Add your shop details
  3. Upload products
  4. Publish your listings

Until products are added and published, you don’t have an active store.

Think of it like renting a physical market stall:

Signing up is reserving the space.
Setting up your stall is actually putting your products on the table.

Why We’re Structured This Way

Unlike “pay for a Facebook stall” groups:

  • You are not dependent on Facebook algorithms.
  • You are not competing in a fast-moving feed.
  • Your products are searchable.
  • Customers can browse by category.
  • You have a permanent shopfront.

You’re building something long-term — not just posting and hoping.

The Simple Breakdown

Facebook Group = Community & Visibility

Crafter’s Market UK Website = Your Actual Shop

You need the website shop to sell through us.

The group alone is not a replacement for a store.

If You’ve Already Signed Up But Haven’t Built Your Store Yet

No stress — you’re not alone.

Your next step is simple:

  • Complete your store setup
  • Add your products
  • Publish them

Why We’re Being Clear About This

We’ve recently had a high number of people:

  • Signing up
  • Not building their store
  • Posting only in the Facebook group
  • Then wondering why they’re not getting website sales

We want you to succeed.

But success here requires building your actual shop.
