Why was my product removed, and how do I get it back?

Last updated on September 22, 2026

Every listing on Crafter’s Market is checked against the same standards, so shoppers can trust that what they buy is handmade and honestly described. Occasionally a listing is taken down or flagged. Here is what the notice means and what to do.

The two kinds of notice

  • Changes requested. Your listing stays live. We have asked you to fix something, and the reason is shown on the product in your Products list. Make the change when you can.
  • Taken down. The listing has been moved to draft and locked, so it cannot be republished until we have looked at it again. You will see “Needs attention” on the product and the reason underneath. The Publish button reads “Save (awaiting review)” while it is locked.

You get an email and a dashboard notification either way. A message thread with the moderation team is opened on your Messages page if you want to reply.

The usual reasons

  • Not handmade, vintage or a craft supply. The listing looks mass-produced or resold. If it is handmade, add how you make it (materials, process) to the description and include photos of the piece in progress or in your workspace.
  • Prohibited item. Something we cannot allow on the marketplace, such as weapons, restricted substances or anything that breaks UK law.
  • Copyright or trademark. The listing uses a brand name, logo, character or design that belongs to someone else. Remove it, or show us that you are licensed to use it.
  • Misleading listing. The title, photos or claims do not match what is being sold, or make claims we cannot allow, such as medical or safety claims.
  • Photos need improving. Stock images, watermarks, blurry or heavily edited photos. Replace them with clear photos of the actual item.
  • Description incomplete. Missing materials, size, how it is made, or personalisation options.

How to get it back

  1. Open the product from your Products list. The reason is at the top.
  2. Fix what was asked. Be thorough; a second look takes longer if the same problem is still there.
  3. Click Save, then click Request review on the product. You can request one review per product per day.
  4. We check it and clear it. If it was live before it was taken down, it goes back live automatically. You get a notification.

Repeated problems

We keep a note of each notice. A pattern of the same issue across several listings can lead to a shop being paused, so it is worth reading the reason carefully and applying it to your other listings too. Our full standards are in Vendor responsibilities.
