A fine art paper print of a hand embroidery documenting the same view as Winter — the same corner of Old Swan, Liverpool, in a different season.
In Summer the ash trees are in full leaf, and the view closes in. The towers that Winter makes fully legible are now partially hidden, the foreground dense with foliage. The Blockbuster stands in full summer colour. The elm on Elms House Road holds its place. The clock tower of the old Walton Hospital is still just visible on the horizon.
What Winter reveals, Summer half-conceals. The two prints together hold the full picture of a panorama that existed from roughly 1996 until the mid-2010s, when the site was demolished. The nursery demolished. The trees cut down. The Blockbuster replaced by retail. A view recorded in thread before it was gone.
Printed on 200 GSM enhanced matte art paper with a smooth non-reflective finish. Supplied unframed — the frame shown in the listing images is for illustrative purposes only. Available in multiple sizes.
