Two small tools on the Products tab save a lot of time: the Listing Health score tells you what a listing is missing, and Duplicate lets you start the next product from one you have already finished.
Listing Health
Every product shows a score out of 100. It is a checklist of the things shoppers and search look for, not a judgement on your work. Green is 80 or more, amber is 60 to 79, orange is 40 to 59, and below 40 the listing needs attention.
What it checks, and how much each is worth:
- Three or more photos: 20 points. The biggest single item.
- A full description of at least 150 characters: 15 points.
- A title between 20 and 70 characters: 10 points.
- A short description of at least 50 characters: 10 points.
- At least one category: 10 points.
- A price: 10 points.
- An SEO title and an SEO description: 5 points each.
- At least one tag: 5 points.
- At least one attribute: 5 points.
- A dispatch time: 5 points.
A score of 100 does not put you top of search by itself; How product ranking works covers that. But every item on the list is something a shopper would otherwise have to ask you, so it is worth getting to green.
Duplicate
Click Duplicate on a product and a new draft appears with “(Copy)” after the title and everything else copied across: description, photos, price, shipping, attributes. Open it, change what is different, and publish. It is the quickest way to list a range of similar pieces.
A copy counts towards your product limit, which is 10 on Basic, 50 on Plus and unlimited on Premium. If you are at the limit, Duplicate tells you so.
