Hey there, welcome to my shop!
My name is Gundula Swann, and I’m totally crochet mad! My crochet journey began as a child back in Germany, where I learned the basics at school. As with many things you learn at school, I wasn’t enamoured with the craft initially and put away my crochet hook as soon as possible!
Years later, in 2016, I came across a global charity movement, “Octopus for a Preemie”, with a UK group active locally. Remembering my crochet roots, I wanted to be part of this and started to make octopus sensory toys for the group. This time the crochet bug thoroughly bit me! Specialising in small scale projects, I developed my skills and branched out, using crochet as a therapy tool, losing myself completely in the moment when creating something new.
Today, I concentrate on creating jewellery and bathroom accessories (face and body care essentials), as well as some seasonal clothing items. I also specialise in filet crochet heritage baby blanket (such as the famous “Call the Midwife” blanket from the popular BBC tv series).
I quickly found that people who saw my creations wanted to buy them and am super lucky to make people happy with my designs while also earning a little on the side.
I use a variety of fibres, including vegan friendly, and work with yarn weights from threads and lace weight to DK and Aran.
