Description

The Delvers of the Crystal Caverns discovered the veins of these crystals long ago, and for generations used them to identify each Dig Team by colour. Though the Delvers are gone now, the Shards they used remain.

This Shard is a relic of the Ocean Delvers, who would brave the perils of not only the caverns but also the seas in their quest for treasures, knowledge, and resources.

Absorbing light from any nearby source, the Shards were used as beacons in the darkness of the caverns for any who became disoriented, and also to help rescuers find the injured in the event of a collapse.

The Shards also act as a warning, not only glowing brighter in the presence of primal Arcane powers, but those creatures that lived long enough to learn the Shard’s glow meant death: that to attempt to prey upon a Delver was not a risk worth taking.
