Description
A paisley design inspired by the original Indo-Iranian buteh motifs that were made popular by the woven shawls exported round the world from Kashmir in the 18th century.
The buteh motif is thought to have many meanings but it generally symbolises life and eternity in the same way the ‘tree of life’ does. It was adopted by the Hippy movement in the 1960s and is still often worn today by artists, folk enthusiasts and people who just consider themselves to have a free spirit.
