Kiln-carved Glass Animal Suncatcher

Description

These beautiful suncatchers were created using a technique called “kiln carving”, where a shape is “carved” into the back of the glass. Bubbles form during the firing process and add character to the piece.

The height of these suncatchers is approximately 8 cm (plus hanging hook and ribbon), and the width varies between approximately 5cm and 8cm. Ribbon colours may vary.

There are lots of possibilities for different designs – from animals to letters to shapes such as hearts – and different colours too. Please contact me if you’d like to commission a variation on this theme.

Every item I make is individually handcrafted and unique, so there might be slight variations between the item photographed and the item you receive – but the basic size, design, layout and colours will be the same. Fused glass is an art form and includes natural variations in the glass, including small bubbles or blemishes. My designs are all original and any resemblance to other products is purely coincidental.

I carry stock of some items, but in many cases I make them to order. My dispatch times for “made to order” items are usually 1-2 weeks, but please send me a message if you need something more urgently and I will see what I can do. Please note that dispatch times may be longer during school holidays.

If you would like to request a custom piece of artwork based on something you’ve seen on my website or in my store, please do get in touch. The prices are usually similar for simple variations such as colour scheme.
