This Chess set is based on the 13th Century pieces from it discovered on the Isle of Lewis. The contrasting colours of Graphite and Cream really do make this set stand out. Made from very durable stonecast it will give many years of pleasure. Not only a board game, this would make a great ornamental conversation piece. We also offer an optional matching rustic Chess board also made from Stonecast
Largest piece is the King, Base width 5cm (2″), Base depth 3.5cm (1.25″), Height 9cm (3.5″).Please note a board with 2″ squares is recomended.

The original 13th century Lewis pieces, made from bone, were discovered in the 18th Century. They are on display in the the National Museum of Scotland.
Would also look great as an ornamental item. A great gift for Chess enthusiasts.
Each piece is finished with felt bases to avoid scratching surfaces.
