Fern Watercolour Blank Card

Description

Another card from my fern series.

I love the shape of ferns, especially in spring when the leaves are unfurling.

The leaves are hand stamped using dark green and copper coloured, permanent ink.

For this background I mixed granulating watercolours, which separate beautifully creating a soft, moss-like effect.
I also added some fine details with permanent black ink.

The effect of the soft, multicolour background and the copper effect looks stunning together.

The card is painted using professional grade watercolour onto acid free paper.

I have used dark purple card to frame the painting to contrast with the green and copper.

This is a hand painted original.

Mounted on a 13.5 cm x 13.5 cm kraft card (these vary in cour and texture).

This card would also look beautiful in a frame later on.
