Baguette Bowl in Elm

Description

This elm bowl is 490mm long and 110 mm wide, with a height of 42 mm. It’s perfect for serving baguette at he dining table, but, of course, other things like fruit, sweets, potpourri, dried , trinkets of all sorts would be beautifully presented in it. As its only treated with Danish Oil it is non-toxic, food safe and toy .safe.
The piece of timber I chose for it was a left over from a piece of furniture, too small to make an item furniture, but too big and too good to just discard. It shows the typical characteristics of elm, the striking grain and the rich colours.
To look after this unique piece, just wipe it with a damp cloth (no detergent) when necessary and give it an occasional rubbed on coat of food safe oil; I recommend Rustin’s Danish Oil.
