Description
This piece is part of my British Wildlife Series 2021 through which I am experimenting with different mediums, substrates and techniques as well as styles of background. This piece was completed with Sennelier soft pastels and Caran D’ache and Faber Castell Pitt pastel pencils. Pastel is a wonderful medium and has the advantage of being incredibly lightfast by nature so that your artwork will stand the test of time. I always ensure I use high quality, archival materials to prevent any damage or deterioration due to light and atmospheric conditions.Â
Double mounted and backed to 12 by 16 inches your piece will come hand signed with a Certificate of Authenticity and a Care Guide to help you look after it.Â
As well as using high quality medium and archival paper this piece has been hinge mounted with acid free double mount and backing board, this will help to prevent the artwork from coming into contact with the glass which can cause damage to the pigments. It is advisable to use glass rather than a plexi glass substitute or simlar to avoid any static attracting the pastel particles, a professional framer will be able to advise you on which glass is best to use. Should you choose to frame the piece yourself you should avoid touching the artwork itself and choose a frame to fit 12 by 16 inches, it may also be beneficial to seal the back of your frame with framers tape to stop any moisture getting in.Â
