There is something fascinating about bees (from a distance!) and watching them buzz happily from flower to flower enjoying their days work! Thanks to a wonderful reference photo from Sue Tilleray I was able to capture this enchanting scene.
This piece was created using pastel pencils to allow a soft and out of focus background but still have the ability to capture all the lovely details of the bee and its quarry – the flower!
I use high grade pastels on archival quality Claire Fontaine pastelmat paper. I also use archival methods to mount my artwork whereby the process is completely reversible with no damage to the surface of the artwork.
The frame is 8 by 10 inches with a double mount and a glass pane this helps to protect the pastel work creating space between it and the glass surface. Glass is also preferable to perspex or similar to limit the risk of static lifting the pastel pigments from the paper. The back of the frame has been sealed with framers tape to protect against heat and moisture.
You will receive a certificate of authenticity and care guide with your piece and it is advisable to display away from direct light and heat sources.
