Crafter’s Market UK Wins Theo Paphitis’ Small Business Sunday

Small Business Sunday, shortened to the hashtag #SBS on Twitter, was created by Theo Paphitis in October 2010. Theo is best known for appearing on Dragons’ Den on BBC Two. He is Chairman of Ryman Stationery plus Boux Avenue lingerie, Robert Dyas and latest acquisition London Graphic Centre.

#SBS Winner 2021

We’ve received a nice social media boost from Retail Entrepreneur Theo Paphitis. We reached out on Twitter and tweeted Theo about our venture during ‘Small Business Sunday’ and was one of six weekly winners to gain a retweet by Theo himself to his near half a million Twitter followers.

The weekly initiative, set up by Theo in 2010, now has over 3,000 #SBS winners and supports small businesses in the UK.

Business and retail entrepreneur and self-confessed Shopkeeper, Theo re‐tweeted Crafter’s Market
UK message to his almost 500,000 followers and as a result, we’ve had an ever-increasing number of followers and extra sign ups as well as orders on the marketplace. We are also now profiled on the #SBS website ( that is exclusive to all Small Business Sunday winners.

Our very own Chris, one of the owners of CMUK, said, “We’ve only been in business since March this year and are
still very much trying to get the word out there. It’s fantastic to have support from Theo because it’s
hard work trying to raise your profile online. To have something like a retweet from someone like
Theo has already helped bring in a large number of traffic to our website.”

Theo Paphitis has said: “We are thrilled to welcome new #SBS members every week and highlight just how important it is to support our small businesses here in the UK. My vision is that everyone who has ever won an #SBS re-tweet from me becomes part of a friendly club; like-minded individuals who can share successes and learnings. The website will also give a valuable profile to the winners chosen and I wish Crafter’s Market UK every success.”

Get involved

Anyone looking for a re‐tweet from Theo should tweet him about their business on Sunday between 5PM and 7.30PM and include the hashtag #SBS. Six lucky businesses are re‐tweeted every Monday at 8 PM and then invited to enter their profile on the new website, attend the annual #SBS networking event and take advantage of the networking opportunities.
